tomboy at heart

get the look: beanie (aperture), sunglasses (ray ban), leather jacket (old michael kors), sweater (old nordstrom), plaid shirt (forever21), jeans (lucky brand), booties (old nine west similar), cross double finger ring (old urban outfitters similar)

Cheers to it being Friday! Most of the week I am in dresses and heels, so I thought today I should be comfortable and casual. Say hello to my tomboy side! I have to share my love for a good pair of jeans. My ultimate favorite besides Madewell jeans are Lucky Brand. The Charlie Skinny is the only style I really purchase from there, where I can wear flats, heels, and booties. Since I am only 5'2 I always have to cuff my jeans (yes I am too lazy to get them hemmed and I prefer a cuff look anyway) and they still look cute. Another super comfy find was my plaid shirt! I have mainly grey, blue, black and white plaid shirts in my closet and it took me forever to find a red one I actually liked. It took me quite some time to figure out what I wanted to wear with it this morning because it can be worn a ton of ways. (My original pick was to wear it over a crop top, but the weather and I didn't agree). I settled for my sweater and layered with my leather jacket that I live in during cold months. Hope you enjoy this post and a peak into my tomboy side.

mommy mondays

Happy Monday dolls! I hope all of you are lounging and enjoying a nice glass of wine, relaxing after a hard day of work. Now work can mean anywhere from an office job, being a doctor, nurse, teacher, retailer, manager, full time mom, etc. A lot of my close friends and family members are superwomen moms so I wanted to do a fun post on this "Mommy Monday". Now just like any other job, being a mommy can be a whirl wind. Your days may consist of toys, food, clean ups, carpools and diaper changing...the list goes on. Now, the question is do you have time for yourself? Do you dress up in the outfit you really want to be in that you saw Jessica Alba wearing? or Do you just throw on whatever is easy? Below are some fun finds that you may see in websites, magazines, and what the latest celeb moms may be wearing. I have compared the pieces to more affordable ones where you can get a great spending deal and still look fashionable.

1. boyfriend jean: easy to throw on and super comfortable! during the day you can wear them with flats with the children...then for date night with the husband throw on some heels.
$148 (joes jeans)

on sale $19 (old navy)

2. stripes: i am a sucker for stripes! i believe you can literally wear stripes dressed up or dressed down. with this particular sleeveless style you can pair it with a fun color or printed scarf.

$79.50 (michael kors)
$9.50 (h&m)

3. leather biker jacket: perfect for date night and a great transitional piece! you can wear the same boyfriend jean and tank and add this layer on to give it an edgy look. this type of jacket can be worn with skirts and dresses as well.

$450 (michael kors)
$39.99 (target)
$6.95(h&m)
$9.95 (h&m)
4.day to night: scarf during the day to keep the casual yet flirty fun look. switch to the statement necklace at night to give your outfit a completely different look.

5. shoes: flats during the day for comfort and running around with the children. heels for the night to add a little sexiness and girly feel to your boyfriend jeans.

$39.50 (h&m)
$188 (j.crew)

Hope you all enjoy this and would love to hear from you all!

get the look: sunglasses (michael kors), button up (kate spade), cardigan (kate spade), bracelets (kate spade), jeans (madewell), shoes (kate spade)

get the look: dress (kate spade), fishnet tights (kate spade)

Hi dolls! Cheers to my first blog post and "brownie point". With black and white being a huge trend right now, I had to post about this amazing button up I recently got. I am in love with this herrington top and had to share my three favorite ways on how to wear it. I am a believer in getting a "bang for your buck", so being able to create completely different looks with what you already have in your closet is amazing! To be honest, I never was a fan of button up shirts. After playing dress up with this particular one... I will now be on the hunt for different colors and prints. Hope you all enjoy this blog as much as I do and would love to hear comments and questions!
